PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Zovirax has a number of uses and is used to fight many medical issues. It is generally used for the herpes infection on the skin. Zovirax can be used to cure herpes of the lip, genitals, chicken pox as well as herpes zoster. It should be understood that Zovirax does not cure the herpes infections. All it does it relieves the pain and itching that one experiences while having chicken pox or herpes. Zovirax also encourages the itching. Topical Zovirax is another medicine that is used quite commonly. It does not stop the reappearance of sores, but it may reduce the itching and pain that one finds in the illnesses like chicken pox and herpes, if it is applied when the symptoms first appear. Topical Zovirax is used only in severe herpes infections. Zovirax can be prescribed to others too. You should ask your doctor or pharmacist for details and more information.
How Taken.
The topical Zovirax should be applied around six times a day, with three hours intervals between two doses. This should be continued for a week. As soon as you find the first symbols of the said illnesses, like burning, blisters of tingling, you should cover the lesions with enough cream. Make sure that the lesions are covered completely. Half an inch of the cream covers about four square inches of the surface area. You should use a applicator, like a cotton swab or even gloves while applying the medicine, so that the other areas of the body are not infected.
Make sure that you wash your hands before and after applying the cream to the infected parts of your body. You should also take Zovirax as prescribed by the doctor, and not stop when you feel that you are getting better. Even if the infection is not completely treated, the symptoms may begin to fade away. Make sure that the lesions caused by herpes are kept dry and clean.
Missed Dose
Apply the missed dose of Zovirax as soon as you remember, but not if you are too close to the next dose. Remember that you should have at least three hours time gap between two doses. Therefore, if you are close to the second dose, skip the missed dose and return to your old dosing sequence.
