Combivent

Drug Uses

Combivent is a combination of Albuterol and Ipratropium which are two bronchodilators which works by relaxing and widening the air passages to prevent bronchospasm.

How it is taken

Combivent must be taken as recommended by your doctor.

You must shake the inhaler well for at least 10 seconds before each spray. Breathe out completely and then put the mouthpiece into your mouth. Now push down on the canister and breathe in at the same time. Hold your breath here for 10 seconds and then breathe out. If you have used more than one inhalation, then wait for at least 2 minutes before you use the second one.

Combivent is a combination of Albuterol and Ipratropium which are two bronchodilators that relax the muscle in the air passageway leading to better air flow into the lungs.

Missed Dosage

If you miss a dose of Combivent, then you may take it as soon as you remember and adjust the remaining doses accordingly. However, if it is nearly time for the next dose then you may skip this dose and continue with the regular dosage. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

Storage

Store it between between 39 and 86 degrees F (4 and 30 degrees C) in an air tight container. Keep away from pets and children.
 

You must not take if you are allergic to any ingredient in it or are allergic to soybeans, peanuts, or other food products that contain soya lecithin.

If you feel that the medicine is not working as usual, then call your doctor immediately.
 

Some of the possible side effects of are headache, dizziness, nervousness; drowsiness or sleep problems (insomnia); cough, hoarseness, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose; dry mouth, unusual taste in your mouth; tremors, numbness or tingly feeling; nausea, vomiting, upset stomach, diarrhea, constipation; or blurred vision. Contact your doctor if any of these side effects occur.
