Drug Uses
Lipitor is a HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor also known as statins and is used to lower blood cholesterol and fats in the blood.
How it is taken
Lipitor comes in a tablet form to be taken once a day. It may be taken with or without a meal. Take Lipitor at the same time each day and do not stop taking the drug without consulting your doctor. Combine it with a low fat diet.
Missed Dosage
If you miss a dose of Lipitor then you may take it as soon as you remember and adjust the remaining doses accordingly. However, if it is nearly time for the next dose then you may skip this dose and continue with the regular dosage. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.
Overdose
Please consult a doctor immediately if you suspect a Lipitor overdose.
