Cialis is an oral medication that helps males gain an erection while having sexual intercourse. The effects of the drug can last for up to 36 hours.
How it is taken
Cialis should be taken as recommended by your doctor. The drug comes in different doses (5mg, 10mg and 20 mg). The ideal starting dosage is 10mg only once a day. Most people take it half an hour before sexual activity.
However, a new treatment pattern called the ‘Cialis a day’ allows people to take the low dosage 5gm pill once every day. This way, you will be ready for sexual intercourse at any time.
Missed Dose
If you are following a regular high strength dosage pattern, then you must take it half an hour prior to sexual intercourse. So, there are no chances of a missed dosage. However, if you are following the new ‘Cialis a day’ regime and you miss a dose, then you may take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, then skip it and continue with your regular dose. But do not take a double dose.
Overdose
Seek medical attention immediately or dial 911 if you suspect an overdose of Cialis.
