Drug Uses
Aciphex is an antiulcer drug that is used to treat inflammation in the esophagus, ulcers, GERD and other conditions which involve excessive stomach acid production. The drug works by reducing the amount of acid produced in the stomach.
How it is taken
Aciphex comes in delayed release enteric coated form. The drug releases slowly in the body. It must be taken once a day without chewing or crushing the tablet. You may take it with or without food with a glass of water. The general recommended dosage for adults is one 20mg tablet once a day for four to eight weeks.
Missed Dosage
If you miss a dose of, then you may take it as soon as you remember and adjust the remaining doses accordingly. However, if it is nearly time for the next dose then you may skip this dose and continue with the regular dosage. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.
Overdose
If you suspect an overdose then seek medical attention immediately.
