Frumil

Drug Uses

Frumil is a combination of amiloride and furosemide and is used to treat hypertension and congestive heart failure. However, it may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

How it is taken

The best way to take Frumil would be as determined by your doctor. However, you may take it with a meal to avoid an upset stomach.

Frumil will increase the frequency of your urination and hence, it is recommended that you increase your fluid intake while taking the drug. Also try not to take a dose after 6 pm so that you do not disturb your sleep.

Missed Dosage

If you miss a dose of Frumil, then you may take it as soon as you remember and adjust the remaining doses accordingly. However, if it is nearly time for the next dose then you may skip this dose and continue with the regular dosage. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

Overdose

Some of the typical symptoms of an overdose include nausea, vomiting, weakness, and lightheadedness. Seek medical attention immediately if you suspect an overdose.

Warnings/Precautions

Discuss with your doctor about any prior medical condition that you may have including allergies to medicines, food or other substances, especially if you have allergies to medicines, if you are allergic to any ingredient in Frumil, if you have kidney problems, diabetes.

You must not take if you are allergic to any ingredient in it or are if you are also taking potassium. Potassium levels in the body must be monitored closely in patients who have a kidney problem or are diabetic. However, do not use a potassium supplement unless it is prescribed by your doctor.

If you are pregnant or suspect that you are, then stop using Frumil and contact your doctor immediately.

It is unknown whether Frumil is secreted in breast milk. Avoid breast feeding while using the drug.

Certain drugs can interact with and hence, mention clearly to your doctor or pharmacist all medicines, dietary supplements and herbal prescriptions that you are taking.

Ensure that you inform your doctor and your dentist about before receiving any form of medical treatment or dental treatment or emergency surgery.

Possible Side Effects

Some of the common side effects of Frumil are nausea, loss of appetite, diarrhea, headache, or weakness.

Please contact your doctor if the symptoms persist or become bothersome.

Other severe side effects include dry mouth, vomiting, excessive thirst, unusual tiredness, unusual muscle weakness, or slowed heart rate.

You must seek medical attention immediately if any of these side effects occur.
