PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Drug Uses
Avapro is primarily used for the treatment of high blood pressure along with other medications. It is also prescribed in people with type ii diabetes to reduce the severity of the damage to the kidneys.
How it is taken
You may take Avapro with or without a meal. Blood pressure will only decline gradually so it may be a couple of weeks before you get the full benefit of the drug. Do not stop taking it until you get complete relief.
Missed Dosage
If you miss a dose of, then you may take it as soon as you remember and adjust the remaining doses accordingly. However, if it is nearly time for the next dose then you may skip this dose and continue with the regular dosage. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.
Discuss with your doctor about any prior medical condition that you may have including allergies to medicines, food or other substances, kidney function problems, low blood volume, or low blood sodium levels.
Certain drugs can interact with Avapro and hence, mention clearly to your doctor or pharmacist all medicines, dietary supplements and herbal prescriptions that you are taking, especially any of the following.
If you are pregnant or suspect that you are, then stop using Avapro and consult your doctor immediately. The drug can cause defects and even death of the fetus. Hence it is not to be used after the third month of pregnancy.
It is unknown whether Avapro is secreted in breast milk. Avoid breast feeding while using the drug.
Periodic lab tests may be recommended to monitor your health while taking the drug. Ensure that you do not miss any lab tests.
Some of the common possible side effects of Avapro are Anxiety, chest pain, diarrhea, dizziness, flu, headache, heartburn/indigestion, muscle injury, tiredness, muscle pain, nausea, nervousness, runny nose, sinus abnormality, sore throat, stomach pain, swelling, upper respiratory tract infection, urinary tract infection, vomiting. Please contact your doctor for appropriate advise if these side effects occur.
Other severe side effects include allergic reactions (rash, hives, itching, difficulty breathing, tightness in the chest, swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue), chest pain, fast heartbeat and fainting.
You must seek medical attention immediately if this occurs.
