Ampicillin is a penicillin antibiotic that is used for treating a variety of bacterial infections such as ear infections, bladder infections, pneumonia, gonorrhea, and E. coli or salmonella infection.
How it is taken
Ampicillin is either taken one hour before or two hours after having your meal with a full glass of water. You must take the drug on a regular schedule for the full course of treatment to gain maximum benefits from it.

Ampicillin is a penicillin antibiotic that works by weakening the cell wall of bacteria in the human body. This eventually ruptures the wall thereby killing the bacteria.
Missed Dosage
If you miss a dose of Ampicillin, then you may take it as soon as you remember and adjust the remaining doses accordingly. However, if it is nearly time for the next dose then you may skip this dose and continue with the regular dosage. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.
Storage
Store it at room temperature (between between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) in an air tight container protecting it from direct exposure to light, heat and moisture. Keep away from pets and children.
