Drug Uses

 It is used to treat depression, ADHD, chronic fatigue, cocaine addiction, nicotine addiction, and lower back pain. The drug is also useful in helping a person to quit smoking. It is not chemically related to tetracycilic, tricyclic, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor and other chemicals that are known antidepressant agents.

 How Taken

Wellbrutin is taken orally, and the general dosage is about one tablet, once or thrice in a day. The drug may be taken with or without a meal. It should be swallowed and not crushed, chewed or divided. Wellbrutin should be taken regularly for a couple of weeks for best results. You should not stop taking Wellbrutin even if you are feeling better. If you are taking Wellbrutin in large doses for a long time, the doctor will want to lower the dosage of Wellbrutin over the course of time.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose, do not let it interfere with your daily dosage requirements. You can take a dose if you have forgotten it, but only if you take it before four hours of the next dose. Do not take a double dose, or do not overdose.

Overdose

If you suspect an overdose, you should seek medical attention immediately. You can have seizures, loss of consciousness, a fast heartbeat or even an heart attack if you overdose on this medicine.
 

Warnings/Precautions
 You should inform your doctor if you have a history of medical situations like seizures, brain tumor, heart, liver or kidney disease. You should also consult the doctor if you have any eating disorders, diabetes, alcohol dependence, and any allergies or an intent to quit smoking.
You should also be careful while driving, operating machinery etc, and should refrain from these activities if you experience dizziness while doing this kind of strenuous work. You should also avoid or limit alcoholic drinks, as they may increase the chances of a heart attack.

You should not take Wellbutrin if you planning to become pregnant, pregnant or if you are lactating. It is a known fact that Wellbutrin is passed into the breast milk.

Possible Side Effects
 Some of the side effects associated with this medicine are dry mouth, increased sweating, headache, vomiting, constipation, anxiety, fatigue and blurred vision. You should notify your doctor if you experience any of these conditions. Also, you should inform your doctor if you experience weight loss or weight gain. You should also inform your doctor if you see any palpitations, have trouble sleeping, and have tremors, dizziness, mood changes, and slowness in the movements, having difficulty urinating, having a decreased sex drive. You should also inform the doctor if you have mental problems, muscle aches, yellowing of the eyes and the skin. These are some of the side effects associated with this medicine.
